Vancouver and Houston duked it out and the Wolves came out victorious.
The Vancouver Wolves beat the Houston Aquas, 5-4. Vancouver pitcher and Santiago, Dominican Republic, native Dave Perez led the way. Perez yielded 4 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-6.
Paul Rees dealt the Aquas a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Vancouver leading 4-0, Rees, who is tied for 7th in the WC in RBI with 44, hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single.
"Dave is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Vancouver manager Zach Meinen.
Vancouver's record now stands at 36-32, placing them second in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.
