The Phoenix Thunderbirds picked up a win at Minneapolis Grounds, dropping the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-3. Savino Dore, who is tied for 3rd in the WC in complete games with 1, was the difference-maker. Phoenix is third in the Western Conference Brian Boots Division with a record of 33-36.

Phoenix used a well-timed hit by Jonathan Oliver to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Oliver.
