The bat of Merlin Garbie helped the Buffalo Rangers top the Brooklyn Browns, 4-3. Garbie went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Buffalo. Josh Trejo earned the save for Buffalo, his 10th. The first-place Rangers sport a record of 42-28.

Jose Puga came through with a big-time hit for Buffalo. The center fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman.
