Late Offense Lifts Buffalo to 4-2 Victory
|
The Buffalo Rangers picked up a win at Bison Stadium, taking down the Maine Lobster, 4-2. Starting pitcher Santiago Ontiveros was a big reason why. Javy Regalado, now 3-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The last-place Rangers sport a record of 27-42.
Matty Hrinko hit a run-scoring double off Garrett Gutierrez in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Rangers in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Hrinko had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Rangers manager Alex Beckman. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
