The Tucson Toros downed the Los Angeles Stars, 8-5, at Stars Ballpark. Manny Sagastisado led the way, going 1-for-3 for Tucson. Tucson starter Tony Masso was credited with the win after throwing 83 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-4. The Toros raised their record to 30-41.

In the top of the sixth, the Toros grabbed the lead when Sagastisado hit his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Eric Brenton made it 6-4, Tucson.

"You look inside of the game, it's just quality approach after quality approach," said Toros manager Rick Barnes.
