Juggernauts 1B Wedel goes 3-for-4 in Win
|
The Toronto Juggernauts handed the Buffalo Rangers a loss at Bison Stadium. The final score was 9-4. Jason Wedel was one of the major contributors for Toronto. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Carl Rodda, who is tied for 7th in the EC with a 2.86 ERA, was the winner. He's now 4-3. The loser was Julius Miller. By defeating Buffalo, the 4th-place Juggernauts improved to 35-36.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Jim Flannery to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Juggernauts on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
