Edwin Munoz pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Denver Glaciers, despite Munoz's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Portland Dragons at Portland Park. Yahya Kanoro went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The left-hander struck out 7 and walked 0. With the win, he ups his record to 4-3 this season. At 43-29, the Dragons find themselves in second place in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division.
Portland center fielder Felix Sanchez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 48th hit of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 2-0.
"Nice, tidy little win," Sanchez said after the game.
