Multi-HR Day for Short as Greens Overpower Harfangs, 5-4
|
Trevor Short was a major factor in the 5-4 Boston win over Montreal. The Greens designated hitter was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Boston reliever Mark Mehringer picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Gaige Kunkle was tagged with the loss. Miko Hakala recorded the save for Boston, his 5th of the season.
Short had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-2 fastball from Gaige Kunkle, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Greens a 5-4 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Short.
"I like our moxie," said Greens manager Matt Glazer.
With the win, Boston goes to 41-31, while the Harfangs fall to 39-34.
