Las Vegas Offense Sputters in 7-0 Loss
The home crowd had a good time watching the Las Vegas Aces and Houston Aquas get after it.

Ron Gelsomino was nothing short of phenomenal for the Houston Aquas. The 26-year-old left-hander was a big reason his team beat the Las Vegas Aces, 7-0. Gelsomino, now 4-8, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs.

Wen-huan Niu had a big solo home run for the Aquas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Yolber Ajete and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Aquas on top, 2-0.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Justin Coroian.

The Aquas now have a record of 23-51.
