St. Louis Downs Cincinnati, 5-2
St. Louis and Cincinnati duked it out and the Gaedels came out victorious.

The St. Louis Gaedels picked up a win at Veeck Park, taking down the Cincinnati Twins, 5-2. Starting pitcher Grant Latour was a big reason why. Latour yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-8. Yoan Del Rio was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.

Had Lanny Tabares not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Tabares hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Gaedels.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Tabares told the St. Louis Times. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."

The defeat makes Cincinnati 26-49.
