San Diego Beats Denver, 3-1
|
The San Diego Destroyers picked up a win at Seaward Stadium, courtesy of Bob Castillo. The right-hander helped his team stop the Denver Glaciers, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Castillo, now 6-7. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. Kurt Bozek collected his 5th save.
Michael Keding, who is tied for 6th in the WC in bases on balls with 42, took Denver hurler Luis Muratalla deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Destroyers on top, 3-1. In all, Keding had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Castillo.
The 4th-place Glaciers now sit at 35-41.
