With Late Score, Destroyers Beat Glaciers
The San Diego Destroyers cut down the Denver Glaciers by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher Tom Sarmiento. Sarmiento was 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Destroyers. Julio Olivo recorded the save, his 10th. The Destroyers saw their win-loss record go to 43-33. At the same time, the Glaciers fell to 40-36.

Sarmiento had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 sinker from Ringo Pineiro, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Destroyers a 4-3 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Sarmiento.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Sarmiento. "More importantly, I had a good game."
