Maine pitcher Eikki Hostikka did his part in helping his team beat the Toronto Juggernauts, 3-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 6 innings, Hostikka surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Adam Mimnaugh wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.
Roberto Fondin had a big 2-run home run for the Lobster in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Maine trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Fisko Loera, who finished 2nd in the EC in innings pitched with 242.0 in 2070, and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Lobster on top, 2-1.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Lobster manager Matthew McExpos. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
Maine has a record of 41-35, placing them second in the Eastern Conference Jossue Lopez Division.
