San Diego Destroyers starter Gary Banks was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Denver Glaciers, 4-3. Banks, now 7-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Julio Olivo nailed down his 11th save.

Tony de Jesus had a big solo home run for the Destroyers in the top of the sixth inning. With San Diego leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a forkball from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Taxi Sabala and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Destroyers on top, 4-2.

"Gary had himself a pretty good evening," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt.

The Destroyers are now 44-33, while the Glaciers fall to 40-37.
