Glaciers Rally Late to Nip Destroyers
The San Diego Destroyers got a superb performance from pitcher Bob Castillo, but the Denver Glaciers still won the game, 6-5. Castillo threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Kevin Welsch notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Shane Shackelford earned the save for Denver, his 2nd.

Alex Guilzar, who led the WC in runs with 126 in 2082, helped out the Denver cause in the top of the eighth inning with a grand slam home run. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

Guilzar told a Denver Herald reporter that he was "delighted" with the win.

With the win, the Glaciers have a record of 35-43.
