Victors Again, Maine Win Streak at 9
|
The Lobster grabbed a win, 5-1, at Estadio Latinoamericano, overcoming a fine effort from Havana pitcher Chih Lum. Lum went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The second-place Lobster improved to 42-35.
Maine used the timely hitting of Jacob Testaverde to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lobster ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Testaverde.
