Minneapolis turned a good effort from starter Alex Mijangos into a win over the Kansas City Athletics at Ballpark of Missouri. The Vikings won the game, 6-0. Mijangos yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-2. Brian Burda nailed down his 1st save.

Minneapolis left fielder Osbiel Borrero contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 2-0.

"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Mijangos. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."

Minneapolis is 38-40 and Kansas City, with the loss, 34-44.
