The Kansas City Athletics outlasted Ramão Bizarro and the Los Angeles Stars, 10-8. Bizarro was impressive in the loss. The Los Angeles center fielder went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Elijah Yates earned the win for Kansas City. Kansas City first baseman Harold Pond contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Athletics ahead, 9-6.
