Senators Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
|
The New York Titans wasted an impressive 9-inning effort from starter Shane Pursley, falling, 2-1, to the Washington Senators at The ESPN Zone. The win went to Jason Petruska in relief, making him now 2-3. Ricardo Alas took the loss for New York. The Senators, at 33-47, sit in 4th place in the Eastern Conference Rex Rawnsley Division.
Washington got a knockout punch from Joe Amaya. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said New York manager Nate Beckman, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
