Harfangs Handle Greens, Nab 3-1 Win
|
Starting pitcher Su-shun Nie was a major factor in the 3-1 Montreal Harfangs triumph over the Boston Greens. Nie yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-2. Touta Kubo earned his 4th save in 5 chances.
Pedro Marcial had a big solo home run for the Harfangs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Montreal leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Lyndon Kidd and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Harfangs on top, 3-1.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Nie, "and let the rest take care of itself."
Boston's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
