The Havana Metropolitanos could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Alex Zapien into a win. Instead, the Buffalo Rangers prevailed, 3-2. Zapien threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Lupe Sandoval picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Ricardo Alas suffered the loss. The Rangers now have a record of 48-33 with the win over Havana.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Buffalo. That's when Bobby Rojas hit a solo home run off two-time All-Star Ricardo Alas to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Rojas said.
