Arrows Rally to Nose Past Portland
|
The Seattle Arrows picked up a win at Portland Park, dropping the Portland Dragons, 5-4, in 10 innings. Honey Geier, who is a five-time All-Star, was the difference-maker. Steve Grantham, now 2-3, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Aaron Narduzzi, credited with the save, is now 13 for 14 in save opportunities.
Dave Rivera came through with a big-time hit for Seattle. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Honey is a max effort guy," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
Portland's current losing streak has reached 6 games.
