Los Angeles and Phoenix got after it at Stars Ballpark.
Los Angeles pitcher Eric Brenton had a large part in his team subduing the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 10-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Brenton yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-2.
Brian Snavley had a big 2-run home run for the Stars in the bottom of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Wil Campos, who is tied for 6th in the WC with a 1.08 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 3-0.
"I'm happy we won," said Brenton. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
With the win, Los Angeles pushed its record to 45-37.
