Titans C Taira goes 3-for-4 in Win
Taiji Taira was a vital contributor to the 8-4 New York victory over Baltimore. The Titans catcher was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Gil Eckenroth, the 28th overall pick in the 2079 draft, was the winner. He's now 7-5. The loser was Kunimatsu Myaji. The third-place Titans are now 42-39, the Kings 40-42.

Taira contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for New York in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Taira took a fastball from Kunimatsu Myaji and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Titans to leap in front, 4-3.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Taira told the New York Today.
