Pedroza Stars as Destroyers Top Glaciers, 7-0
|
The San Diego Destroyers defeated the Denver Glaciers, 7-0, in part because of designated hitter Jose Pedroza. Pedroza went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Destroyers. The Destroyers, now 49-33, have won 7 in a row.
The Destroyers got a big boost from third baseman Phil Heisey who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Glaciers hurler Taxi Sabala. It was his 43rd walk of the season and put San Diego on top, 1-0.
"Things will change for us," said Denver manager Todd Bleess. "When things change, we'll get clicking."
