Cyclones Win, 4-3, Versus Brooklyn
|
The Miami Cyclones had to overcome a fine effort from Brooklyn pitcher Kurt Bozek to win, 4-3, at Kroger Stadium. Bozek went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Miami pitcher Ricardo Riveron earned the win, hiking his record to 4-0. Kevin Bozek suffered the loss. Miami goes to 41-41, Brooklyn to 43-40.
Pete Apolinar was the walk-off hero for Miami. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cyclones shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This game was intense," Apolinar said, postgame.
