With designated hitter Alonzo Armijo leading the charge, the Santiago Avispas defeated the Baltimore Kings, 7-4, at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. Armijo, who finished 2nd in the EC in on-base percentage with .426 in 2077, went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Santiago sits in 4th place in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division at 41-45.

The Kings had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Avispas going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old third baseman Gabe Castro came to the plate. Castro hit a 2-run double on a first pitch changeup from Baltimore hurler Adam Simms. It was Castro's 21st double of the year.

"The most important thing is that we won," Castro said.
