Alaska pitcher Mike Blain had a large part in his team beating the Philadelphia Spectres, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. With the victory, the Kodiaks record stands at 56-30.

Felix Perez came through with a big-time hit for Alaska. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Mike showed what he's made of," said Alaska manager Alex King.
