Avispas Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
The Santiago Avispas turned back the Baltimore Kings, 6-5, at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. Innis Walker, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Divino Aljeroz, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Baltimore's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Santiago first baseman Sergio Folha, facing Juan Colleano, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Avispas the 6-5 win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Folha said.
