Thunderbirds 7-3 Winners Versus Houston
|
The Phoenix Thunderbirds topped the Houston Aquas, 7-3, with designated hitter Karl Cooper playing a big role. Cooper went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles for the Thunderbirds in the win. Aaron Kopta, the winning pitcher, is now 5-7. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1. Phoenix occupies third place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division at 45-43.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Cooper hit a solo home run off Slider Brooks. It propelled the Thunderbirds into the lead, 1-0.
