The Tucson Toros converted a terrific effort from starter Felix Talamantez into a win over the Portland Dragons at Portland Park. The Toros won the game by a final score of 6-2. Talamantez, now 4-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Toros move to 49-38 with the win, while the Dragons drop to 40-48.

The Toros got a big at-bat from right fielder Geri Rengifo. For the game, Rengifo was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 18th double of the season gave Tucson a 2-0 lead.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Rengifo.
