Baltimore got a terrific game from center fielder Marcos Galarraga. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Miami, 8-7. Galarraga went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The second-place Cyclones improved to 45-41.

The decisive blow was delivered by Cole Roberts Jr. in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 32-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Pechtel to win the game for Miami. The home crowd went nuts.
