Friars Suffer 8-1 Road Loss
|
The Havana Metropolitanos picked up a win at Estadio Latinoamericano, taking down the San Francisco Friars, 8-1. Starting pitcher John McFadyen was a big reason why. McFadyen yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 10-4. Havana, at 52-38, is 3 games up in the Eastern Conference Goff Division.
The Metropolitanos had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 8-1, Havana, with one out. San Francisco, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Manuel Chavez dug in at the plate, but on a full count fastball, he lined out.
