|
The Boston Greens beat the Washington Senators, 5-4, at Arrington Park. Boston first baseman Trevor Short had the hot bat. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Boston pitcher Jason Sverdloff got the win. He's now 1-0. Matt Staat was tagged with the loss. The Greens raised their record to 50-38.
Henry Sosa, who led the WC in runs with 124 in 2083, helped out the Boston cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Boston manager Matt Glazer. "It's usually not just one thing."
