Rangers Beaten By Glaciers, 5-3

The Denver Glaciers picked up a win at Mountain Dew Park, knocking off the Buffalo Rangers, 5-3. On the mound for Denver was right-hander Kevin Welsch. He played a key role in the triumph. Shane Shackelford notched his 4th save in 6 chances. The 4th-place Glaciers lifted their record to 40-51.
Alex Guilzar had a big 2-run home run for the Glaciers in the bottom of the first inning. With Denver leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a changeup from Julius Miller, who finished 2nd in the EC in wins with 19 last year, and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Glaciers on top, 3-0.
"Kevin did a good job keeping the game under control," said Denver manager Todd Bleess.
