Capucho Drills 2 Homers in 7-6 Cincinnati Win
|
The Cincinnati Twins cut down the Santiago Avispas by the score of 7-6, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Salomão Capucho. Capucho hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Twins. Macario Mendoza picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Kazushige Ogino, who is tied for 9th in the EC in holds with 8, was tagged with the loss. The Twins raised their record to 33-57.
Capucho had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Kazushige Ogino, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Twins a 7-6 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Capucho.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Capucho.
