Big Day for Pike as Kodiaks Down Metropolitanos, 9-7
The first-place Alaska Kodiaks picked up another win.

Getting a good performance from third baseman Alderaan Pike, the Alaska Kodiaks defeated the Havana Metropolitanos, 9-7. Pike went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Kodiaks. Mike Blain, the winning pitcher, is now 8-4. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 3.

Left Fielder Jose Fierro made an impact for Alaska, when he swatted a bases-clearing double off Alex Zapien in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Fierro went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Kodiaks manager Alex King. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
