Win Lifts Thunderbirds to 47-44
The Phoenix Thunderbirds stopped the San Diego Destroyers, 7-3, at Legednary Park. The Thunderbirds got a big game from Rickey Pfau, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Jimmy Hsia was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 21 save opportunities. With the win, Phoenix upped its record to 47-44.

Billy Morf had a big 2-run home run for the Thunderbirds in the bottom of the third inning. With Phoenix leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Gary Banks, who is tied for 10th in the WC with a 3.49 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Thunderbirds on top, 4-0.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Morf said after the game.
