Avispas Fall to Senators, 10-3
|
The performance of Bobby Badeaux proved critical in helping Washington beat Santiago, 10-3. The Senators left fielder went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was fan favorite Rajam Masrani. He tossed 96 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Washington is now 41-51, Santiago 59-32.
Badeaux had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a single. The Senators went on to win.
"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Washington manager Ron Beckman.
