Yellowknife Makes It 6 Straight with 3-1 Win
The Yellowknife Ravens had to overcome a good performance from Phoenix pitcher Jim Lawrence to claim a 3-1 win at Legednary Park. Lawrence went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The first-place Ravens, at 52-40, now lead their division by 2½ games.

Yellowknife used the timely hitting of Jeremy Curzon to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ravens on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Phoenix manager Joe Busch. "Obviously."
