Rangers Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Buffalo Rangers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Vancouver designated hitter Kevin Sykes by beating the Wolves, 5-4, at Fox-Chong Park. Sykes went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Buffalo reliever Mike Brack picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Kiyohiro Murakami absorbed the loss. D.J. Harkins recorded the save for Buffalo, his 2nd of the season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Josh Main? The 23-year old center fielder Main stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Buffalo up, 5-3. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
Main said his team "played with a purpose."
