The Kodiaks grabbed a win, 7-0, at Tundradome, overcoming a fine effort from Toronto pitcher Carl Rodda. Rodda went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner in relief was Eddie Izurieta. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-1. Alaska goes to 60-33. The win puts them 10 games up in their division.

The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from catcher David Cortez. For the game, Cortez was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Alaska a 2-0 lead.

Cortez told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
