The San Diego Destroyers and starting pitcher John Huberty stifled the Minneapolis offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Minneapolis Grounds. San Diego leads the Western Conference Eric Wise Division by 3 games.

San Diego used a well-timed hit by Ryan Kenney to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Destroyers ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

Said losing manager Ace Cooan: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
