Portland Makes Kansas City 5-2 Losers
|
The Portland Dragons got a good effort from starter Yandri Vido in defeating the Kansas City Athletics at Ballpark of Missouri. The final score was 5-2. Vido, now 10-6, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. At 51-45, the Dragons are currently third in the Western Conference Jonas Division.
David Straub had a big 2-run home run for the Dragons in the top of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Alvaro Castanon and swatted a home run to center. It was his 15th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 4-0.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Straub told the Portland Observer. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
