Vikings Get Hard-Earned Win
The San Diego Destroyers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher R.J. Mendenhall into a win. Instead, the Minneapolis Vikings prevailed, 6-5. Mendenhall threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Minneapolis reliever Sok-man Chung picked up the win to move to 1-1. Teh-huai Yap suffered the loss. The third-place Vikings now have a record of 47-48.

The decisive blow was delivered by Lien-ying Tsai in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off two-time All-Star Teh-huai Yap to win the game for Minneapolis. The home crowd went nuts.

"The house was rockin'," said Tsai.
