Titans Earn 6-2 Win Against Greens
|
The New York Titans beat the Boston Greens, 6-2, at Arrington Park. Melvin Gutierrez, in particular, was impressive. He was 4 for 7 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. New York pitcher Edwin Salas got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rafael Morales got the loss. With the win, New York upped its record to 57-38.
New York used the timely hitting of Earl Carpenter to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 15th inning to put the Titans on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 7 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Gutierrez called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
