Ragged Ass Road was the site of a competitive game between the Yellowknife Ravens and Phoenix Thunderbirds.

The Thunderbirds grabbed a win, 5-3, at Ragged Ass Road, overcoming a fine effort from Yellowknife pitcher Craig Kruppenbacher. Kruppenbacher went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Ko Morita, now 2-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings.

Billy Morf came through with a big-time hit for Phoenix. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We were the better team," crowed Morf.

By defeating Yellowknife, the third-place Thunderbirds improved to 50-46.
