Browns Shut Out Senators, 1-0
|
The Brooklyn Browns picked up a win at Brown Town, courtesy of Kurt Bozek. The left-hander helped his team stop the Washington Senators, 1-0. Bozek, now 8-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing no runs. The Browns raised their record to 50-47.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Browns had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when designated hitter Antonio Burquez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Bobby Jaramillo and made the score 1-0, Browns. Burquez went 1-3.
Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier called it "a darn good win."
