The Destroyers faced a stiff challenge from Phoenix pitcher Arturo Noboa, but persevered to claim a win at Seaward Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Noboa went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. San Diego pitcher Joe Drum got the win. He's now 3-1. Sumiki Kono was tagged with the loss. The Western Conference Eric Wise Division-leading Destroyers are 56-41.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tony de Jesus in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Sumiki Kono to win the game for San Diego. The home crowd went nuts.

"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said de Jesus.
