The Destroyers earned a hard-fought, 5-4 win in 12 innings at Seaward Stadium. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Minneapolis pitcher Victor Garza. Garza went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Destroyers, now 58-41, have won 4 in a row.
San Diego got a clutch hit from Carlos Reta. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.
