Browns Earn Late 5-4 Win
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Brooklyn Browns and Washington Senators.
The Washington Senators got a sterling performance from pitcher Kai-xi Jia, but the Brooklyn Browns still prevailed, 5-4. Jia threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Brooklyn is third in the Eastern Conference Walker Division with a record of 52-47.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when catcher Shichinosuke Sakai hit a run-scoring single. The Browns went on to win.
"This house was rockin'," Sakai said.
