Twins Claim 3-1 Triumph
|
In a tight tilt between the Cincinnati Twins and the Boston Greens, Ken Wellon was the deciding factor. The Cincinnati left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Wellon got the win, improving to 6-10. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Ray Hibler notched his 4th save of the season.
Carlos Cano, who is tied for 7th in the EC in stolen bases with 14, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cano contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Cincinnati up, 2-0.
"Makes our job easier," said Cano, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
Cincinnati's record now stands at 40-62, placing them last in the Eastern Conference Kamuzu Division.
